You arrive any time after 16h00 on Thursday, and dine out that evening (there are loads of restaurants nearby).
Class starts on Friday morning, and in the afternoon, I'll accompany you to the fish market in Le Guilvinec, France’s major langoustine fishing port, when the fishing boats come in.
On Saturday morning we'll go to the Halles Couvertes (indoor market) in the historic centre of Quimper to learn what to look for when shopping for ingredients. You might want to bring a camera on these trips, both are quite worth a photo!
The meals you prepare will as far as possible use seasonal produce grown in France. This is a most important aspect of French cuisine.
Back home, I'll provide tasty cold lunches and we'll spend the rest of the time learning the different techniques and preparing and cooking a full meal for Friday and Saturday supper.
Lessons are very much hands on stuff, either your choice of dishes from a list I provide, or your own suggestions. At six-ish, we stop, clean up and change, and reward ourselves with drinks and the delicious meal you have prepared!
Sunday is a day of rest and recuperation! Depending on the season of the year, you may choose anything from mass in St Corentin Cathedral, a leisurely drive around the Breton countryside to discover chapels and hidden holy wells, a walk on the beach, traditional French family lunch in a good seafood restaurant, a whole day sunning yourself at the seaside with a picnic, a round of golf at the very beautiful Golf de Cornouaille at La Forêt Fouesnant 15 minutes away, or just sitting with a book on my terrace. Only breakfast is provided on Sundays.

You'll probably be off back home after breakfast on Monday, but may extend your stay for as long as you wish to make a real holiday of it and give yourselves time to explore the town of Quimper, the coast and countryside that make this part of Brittany so special.
Tuition is available to only two students at a time, sharing the ensuite bed and breakfast room (see Finistere-bedandbreakfast.com for further details of accommodation). The beds can be made up as twins if two friends or members of the same family wish to follow the class together, or as a queen size double (160cm) for a couple.
The advantages of one-to-one tuition are numerous. You can choose course content without taking any other participants into account. You don’t have to worry about being with participants of different levels of skill. And, a SINGULAR advantage of my REAL FRENCH cookery class is that, for no extra charge, we can kill two birds with one stone and conduct the whole course in French if you so desire (or part of it if you get tired!), since I am totally bilingual.
